Accessibility Statement

Last updated: [Add Date]

Yule Yurt is committed to making both our website and our Christmas events as accessible and inclusive as possible. We want everyone to be able to enjoy Santa’s Yuletide Yurt, regardless of age, ability or access needs.

This Accessibility Statement explains where we currently meet accessibility standards, where we are still improving, and how you can contact us if you need support.

🌐 Website Accessibility

We aim to make www.yuleyurt.com easy to use for all visitors by:

  • Using clear, readable fonts and high-contrast colours

  • Ensuring the site works on mobile, tablet and desktop

  • Providing alt text for key images

  • Ensuring navigation is simple and uncluttered

  • Using descriptive link labels

  • Avoiding flashing or strobing content

We are continually reviewing accessibility and making adjustments as we grow.

If you experience any difficulty using the website, please let us know so we can improve it.

🎄 Event Accessibility (Santa’s Yuletide Yurt)

We want as many families as possible to enjoy the festive experience, and we will always make reasonable adjustments where possible.

Venue Details

  • The yurt is located outside Roath Church House on the lawn, this is all step free access.

  • The entrance to the yurt has a low threshold.

  • Seating is available inside for children and supervising adults.

  • Lighting is warm and soft.

  • Music and sound levels are kept moderate.

Mobility & Wheelchairs

  • Wheelchairs and mobility aids are welcome.

  • If you require step-free access or extra space during your session, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you comfortably.

Buggies & Pushchairs

  • Buggy parking is available outside or inside the entrance area, depending on weather and capacity.

Neurodivergent Visitors

We aim to keep sessions calm and not overcrowded.
If your child needs extra time, a quieter moment, or any adjustment, please speak to a member of the team — we are here to help.

Assistance Animals

Registered assistance dogs are welcome.

⚠️ Known Limitations

We want to be transparent about limitations so you can plan your visit:

  • The yurt has a single entrance/exit point.

  • Space inside can be limited during full sessions (max 20 children + adults).

  • Toilet facilities are provided by us and we have one fully accessible toilet with changing table - as these are portaloos please be aware they will be cold.

  • The outdoor ground surface may be uneven in wet or icy weather.

We are working to improve accessibility each year.
